The problem

Chore apps track tasks. They don't fix what's actually broken.

The real issue isn't who mops the floor — it's who noticed it needed mopping, bought the cleaner, and reminded everyone. That invisible work falls on one person. Every time.

Features

Not another checklist.
A fairness engine.

ChorePact doesn't just list your chores. It knows who's working late, who's exhausted, who always gets stuck with the dishes — and fixes it.

Three fairness modes

Equal Effort balances by difficulty. Equal Time balances by minutes. Low Stress routes chores away from whoever hates them. Pick what works for you.

No other app does this
🧠

Invisible labor, made visible

When you add a custom chore, the app records who noticed the need. For the first time, planning and noticing get credit — not just doing.

💜

Thank your partner

See what your partner did this week and send a quick thanks. Research shows appreciation is the #1 buffer against chore resentment in relationships.

💬

Weekly check-ins

Guided prompts help you talk about what's working. "What felt unfair this week? What should we adjust?" Data-informed, not blame-driven.

🕐

Good day, bad day

Rough day? Switch to a lighter load — only essentials show up. Feeling productive? Take on extras. Away for the weekend? Everything shifts to your partner automatically.

🍴

Recipes, tips, grocery list

Tap "Cook dinner" and get actual recipes with ingredients. Add them to your shared grocery list in one tap. Tips for every chore from laundry to lawn care.

📅

Work schedule integration

Set weekly hours or rotating shifts (nurses, firefighters, retail). The engine automatically assigns more chores to whoever's free that day.

🏆

Rewards you both earn

Complete chores, earn points, redeem them for real rewards — date night pick, sleep in, chore-free evening. Collaborative, not competitive.

How it works

Set up together.
In 5 minutes.

Both partners pick chores, set schedules, and mark what they dislike. The engine handles the rest — every single day.

Pick your chores

Browse 100+ presets across 10 categories or create custom tasks. Mark dislikes so the engine routes them to whoever doesn't mind.

Set your rhythms

Add work schedules (9-5, rotating shifts, or custom), day-to-day preferences, and fairness mode. The app adapts to your real life.

Live your pact

Each day shows exactly what's yours and why. Complete tasks, get tips and recipes, send thanks, and check in weekly to adjust.

Our story

Built by a couple,
for couples.

The argument that started an app

ChorePact started the way most good ideas do — with a fight about dishes. We tried every chore app out there. They all had the same problem: one person set everything up, became the household manager, and nothing actually changed.

So we built what we actually needed: an app that doesn't just track chores, but makes the division genuinely fair. One that accounts for work schedules, bad days, and the invisible labor of noticing what needs doing. One that helps couples appreciate each other instead of keeping score.

ChorePact is a fairness app disguised as a chore app.

FAQ

Questions? We've got answers.

How is ChorePact different from Sweepy or Tody?
Those are cleaning apps — they track what rooms need cleaning. ChorePact is a relationship equity tool. It balances ALL household work (not just cleaning) using a fairness engine that considers work schedules, how your day is going, and preferences. It also tracks invisible labor (who noticed and planned, not just who did) and lets you thank your partner when they complete tasks.
What if my partner won't use it?
This is the #1 failure point for every chore app. ChorePact is designed so both partners set up together in 5 minutes — it's a couples activity, not one person's assignment. The app sends its own neutral reminders (no more nagging), and the rewards system gives both partners incentive to participate.
How does the fairness engine actually work?
Each chore has an effort score based on difficulty, time, and unpleasantness. The engine assigns the hardest chores first, alternating between partners while checking who has more free time that day (based on work schedules) and who has less accumulated effort. It rebalances every time a task is completed, added, or swapped.
What are the three fairness modes?
Equal Effort balances by difficulty points — scrubbing a toilet counts more than wiping a counter. Equal Time balances by minutes — everyone spends the same amount of time on chores. Low Stress checks what each person dislikes and routes those chores to whoever doesn't mind them.
Is ChorePact free?
Core features will be free — including sharing between partners (we'll never paywall the thing that makes the app work). A premium tier with advanced features is planned, but we're focused on getting the foundation right first.
