ChorePact ("we," "our," or "us") is a household chore fairness app for couples. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google.
Household data: Information you enter into the app, including chore names, schedules, work shifts, energy levels, preferences, completion history, reward points, grocery lists, and messages of appreciation between partners.
Waitlist information: If you sign up for launch notifications on our website, we collect your email address.
Automatically collected information: We collect basic usage data through Firebase Analytics, which may include device type, operating system, app version, and general interaction patterns. We do not collect precise location data.

Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore), which is hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure in the United States. Firebase provides encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to your household data is restricted by security rules — only you and your partner can read or write your household's data.
Your password is managed by Firebase Authentication and is never stored in plain text. We do not have access to your password.
Your partner: If you share a household, your partner can see household data including chore assignments, completion history, schedules, and appreciation messages.
ChorePact team: We can access data in the Firebase console for technical support and debugging purposes. We will never access your data for any other reason.
Third parties: We do not sell, share, or provide your personal data to any third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. We use the following service providers who may process data on our behalf:
We retain your account and household data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days. Some anonymized usage data may be retained for analytics purposes.
Waitlist email addresses are retained until we send the launch notification, after which they are deleted.
